Hobbies: A wide variety including: watching Japanese animation, playing computer games, reading science fiction and fantasy, creative writing, game design, music composition, politics, philosophy, fencing, martial arts, etc.

Why you joined Rotaract: Rotary became an important part of my life when I did a Youth Exchange to Bern, Switzerland in my Grade 11 year of high school. After moving to Burlington in September 2016, I was excited to join the Burlington Rotaract to connect with the Rotary community and the local community. I am consistently impressed with Rotary’s impact at the local, national and international level.

Educational background: I studied at McMaster University

Professional background: I work for an accounting firm in Burlington

Hobbies: I enjoy listening to music, cooking up a storm, and doing crafts

When you joined Rotaract: Summer 2016

Why you joined Rotaract: When I joined, I had just moved back to Burlington after graduating from Western University. I was looking for opportunities to volunteer and give back to the community, which has always been very important to me. When I came across Burlington Rotaract, I immediately identified with the club’s values and was excited to meet everyone who was a part of it. 

Educational background: Western University (Ivey Honors Business Administration 2016)

Personal background: I grew up in Burlington and enjoyed visiting conservation parks in the area during my childhood. After completing my undergraduate degree in London, ON, I was excited to move back to spend more time with family and be reunited with childhood friends. I currently work in Toronto in consulting.

Hobbies: travelling, hiking, trying new foods, watching good shows/movies

Name: Kristi Smith

Role: Director of Marketing & Past President


Kristi first joined Rotaract in May 2012 when she helped Charter the Milton Rotaract Club. She was secretary for 2 years. In September 2014, Kristi moved to Burlington and joined the Burlington Rotaract Club to meet new people. She is quickly became the secretary of the Burlington Club and is now the Vice President. Kristi graduated from the Canadian Therapeutic College in July 2008 and has been a Registered Massage Therapist for 7 years. She currently works in both Waterdown and Milton. Along with her profession of helping others she enjoys community fundraising and meeting new people.
